DAIRY OF TOMORROW | AMERICA’S MOST MODERN DAIRY
This factory (circa 1950) was the jewel of the Aines Dairy Farm company. Raw milk was collected from farms around city and brought here to be refined into dairy products to be delivered to homes across the metro. Following decades of public distrust of industrial food processing, food production companies incorporated cleanliness, wholesomeness and dazzling technological advancement into every aspect of their sales pitch. The factory’s Streamline Moderne style emphasizes transparency and cleanliness. Block glass and open floorplans signaled that there was nothing to hide. Every gleaming surface was spotless. The exterior facade resembles a high speed train or rocketship - this was the milk of the future.
FINISHED IN GLEAMING GLASS BLOCK AND TILE, THE NEW AINES PLANT IS SUPER CLEAN - BOTH INSIDE AND OUT! ...ALL AIR THAT COMES INTO THE PLANT IS SCIENTIFICALLY FILTERED!
